These terms cover data-recovery work booked through kingwooddata.xyz or (936) 251-6130. Kingwood & Atascocita Data Recovery is a service of Atascocita IT. By sending a device or paying the evaluation, you agree to the process below — not to a guaranteed result.
We evaluate failed or at-risk media (hard drives, SSDs, phones, cards, USB, RAID/NAS members) and, when you approve a quote, attempt recovery. In-house work is logical recovery plus minor physical work. Some controller, firmware, or clean-room cases are escalated to a specialist only with your approval and a clear extra cost. We are not a consumer electronics store, not a national mail-in chain, and not a law firm. Computer repair, malware cleanup, and HIPAA audits are separate brands (Atascocita IT, Virus Pros, MD Audit).
The evaluation is $50, same day in the usual case, and it is not credited toward recovery. That fee covers diagnosis: what failed, whether we can help, and a fixed recovery price if we can. If we cannot recover usable data, there is no recovery fee. If you decline the quote, you still owe the evaluation and we return the original media. Parts, donor drives, shipping to a specialist, and extra copies are quoted separately. We do not quote a firm recovery price over the phone before we have seen the device.
You confirm you have the right to authorize work on the media you send. Encrypted volumes (BitLocker, FileVault, hardware-encrypted USB) need a key or password you provide; we cannot invent one. We image read-only when the hardware allows it and recover against that image. Turnaround estimates are estimates. Emergency or after-hours intake is available but does not change the no-guarantee rule. Returned media and recovered copies are your responsibility once they leave us. Keep a backup. We are not liable for data that was already unreadable, for files overwritten before we received the device, or for consequential loss (missed deadlines, business interruption, sentimental value) beyond the amount you paid us for that job.
We will not run destructive DIY steps you already started (CHKDSK loops, RAID rebuilds, freezer tricks) without telling you they may have reduced the odds. We will not pay ransoms or negotiate with criminals — ransomware containment is Virus Pros. We will not testify as courtroom forensic examiners; we can preserve a clone and point you to a specialist if a case is headed that way.
The website is provided as-is for information and intake. Do not submit someone else's data or a device you do not control. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
