Step 1 — Intake and chain of custody
You drop the device off in Kingwood or Atascocita, or we arrange pickup locally. We log make, model, serial number, and physical condition, and note anything already attempted on it — that history matters. You leave with a receipt identifying your device.
Step 2 — $50 same-day evaluation
A flat $50 buys a same-day answer, not a sales pitch. We determine whether the failure is logical (deleted files, formatting, corruption, partition damage) or physical (head failure, PCB or firmware fault, controller failure, liquid damage), and what is realistically recoverable. We do not attempt recovery during the evaluation, and we do not power-cycle a clicking drive to "see if it comes up."
Step 3 — Fixed quote and your approval
You receive a fixed quote tied to the service level your case needs: local logical recovery, advanced physical and lab recovery, or business emergency recovery. Most logical hard drive recoveries land in the $300–$795 range depending on complexity; physical and chip-level work is quoted case by case. Nothing proceeds until you say yes. If you decline, you owe the $50 and you get your device back.
Step 4 — Imaging and recovery
We take a read-only sector image first and perform the recovery from that image, so your original media is never the thing being experimented on. Logical cases are typically finished within a day or two of approval. Physical cases get a written timeline at quote time. If a case genuinely needs a specialist physical-recovery partner, you hear who they are, what they receive, and what it costs before your device or image leaves our custody.
Step 5 — Delivery, return media, and deletion
You verify the recovered data before we close the job. Delivery goes on whatever medium you prefer — bring your own external drive, buy one from us at cost, or we can push to your cloud storage. Your original media comes back to you either way. After a short verification holding period we securely erase our copies. Ask for written confirmation of deletion and we'll provide it.
What we don't charge for
